Bad news for Tennessee customers - TVA just approved a 12% rate increase for Schedule GSA-1 (general service) effective April 1st. This affects most of our commercial clients in the Tennessee Valley region. The increase is split between base energy charges (+8%) and demand charges (+15%). Clients are going to be looking for ways to offset these higher costs. Time to review all our TVA accounts for optimization opportunities.

Thanks for the heads up, Brenda. TVA rate increases always ripple through the entire region since they supply so many local utilities. This is definitely a good time to review demand management strategies for GSA-1 customers. Many of them could benefit from load shifting or demand response programs to minimize the impact of those higher demand charges.
