Need advice on filing procedures with Georgia Power. I have a commercial client on Tariff Schedule GSA-6 with what appears to be incorrect seasonal demand billing. The errors go back 18 months totaling about $31K. I know Georgia Power has specific deadlines for dispute filings. What's the current time limit for challenging billing errors, and do I need to file with the Georgia PSC or handle it directly with Georgia Power first?

Filing Deadlines with Georgia Power - Tariff GSA-6
Georgia Power allows 12 months for billing disputes under their standard tariff, but there are exceptions for meter errors and rate misapplications. Start with their Customer Service department first - file a formal complaint in writing. If they deny it, then you escalate to the Georgia PSC. Make sure you have all interval data and documentation ready before filing.
Chad's timeline is correct. Also worth noting that Georgia Power's GSA-6 schedule has seasonal demand ratchets that many customers don't understand. Verify that your client's ratchet is being calculated correctly - I've found errors where summer peak demand was carrying over incorrectly into winter months. The 18-month lookback might be possible if you can prove systematic billing system error rather than isolated mistakes.
