Just ran into an interesting situation with Consumers Energy in Fayetteville. Three of the 18 months show estimated reads with no true-up. We pulled 18 months of billing history and found the fuel adjustment error started in 2018.

TVA Greenville territory — anyone have contacts?
Great catch, Rachel K. I''ve seen Memphis Light Gas & Water do this before — it''s a systemic issue in their billing system.
Good work Randy Dawson. For the folks following along, this is a textbook example of why we check estimated reads on every audit.
Be careful with Consumers Energy''s refund process — they sometimes try to limit the lookback period to 5 years.
Good thread. I want to emphasize what Rachel K said about demand charges. This comes up frequently and the correct approach is to always verify against the published tariff, never assume the bill is right.
