Caught Eversource rate classification error going back 3 years

Had a breakthrough on a Duke Energy case this week. We pulled 36 months of billing history and found the tax exemption oversight started in 2022. The Schedule TS rate schedule clearly states seasonal rates apply May-October, but the bill shows winter rates applied year-round.
Nice find. I''ve started using the AAUBA audit workbook to cross-reference these calculations and it saves a ton of time.
Had the exact same problem with Kentucky Utilities last year. Took about 36 months to resolve but got full refund.
Good work Elisa L. For the folks following along, this is a textbook example of why we check demand charges on every audit.
This is exactly why I always pull 48+ months of history. The pattern wouldn''t show in a shorter window.
Don''t forget to check the Schedule LGS effective dates — Memphis Light Gas & Water backdated a rate change that caught me off guard.
Welcome insights here. I''d add that Idaho Power''s billing system has had known issues with tariff interpretation since their platform migration. Document everything carefully.
