Just finished hosting our quarterly AAUBA webinar on advanced demand analysis techniques. We covered interval data interpretation, coincident peak identification, and ratchet optimization strategies. Had about 85 attendees from across the country. Recording and slide deck are now available in the member resources section. Thanks to everyone who joined and asked great questions during the Q&A!
Excellent webinar Steve! The section on 15-minute interval analysis was particularly helpful. We've been struggling with some WE Energies accounts here in Milwaukee where the billing demand doesn't match our calculations. Your methodology for identifying the actual coincident peaks will be a game-changer for our practice.
Great presentation! Question about slide 23 - when you're dealing with multiple rate periods in TVA territory, how do you handle the seasonal ratchet calculations? We have a client on Schedule GSA-3 where the summer peak is carrying through to winter months at 75% and the math isn't adding up to their bills.
Dale - good catch! TVA's ratchet methodology on GSA-3 is tricky. The 75% carry-forward applies to the contract demand, not the actual billing demand. I'll send you a detailed breakdown offline. This might warrant a follow-up webinar specifically on TVA billing nuances.
Steve, would it be possible to do a regional follow-up session focused on Southern utilities? We're seeing some unique billing practices with Dominion Energy here in South Carolina that don't quite fit the standard analysis models you presented. Could probably get 20-30 Southeast members interested.
