Holiday Party Phoenix December 2018?

Hey Arizona members and anyone planning to be in the Phoenix area in December! I'm thinking about organizing a casual holiday get-together for local AAUBA folks. Maybe dinner and drinks somewhere in Scottsdale or Tempe? I know Sarah is in town, and Patricia might be interested. Would be great to wrap up 2018 with some networking and war stories from this crazy year of utility rate changes. Anyone free the weekend of December 15th?
Omar, that sounds perfect! I'd love to get together with local members. December has been absolutely insane with APS and SRP both rolling out new rate schedules. I've got at least three clients asking questions about the new demand charge structures that I'm still figuring out myself. How about Saturday December 15th? Maybe somewhere in Old Town Scottsdale with good food and a relaxed atmosphere for talking shop?
Count me in! December 15th works great for me. I just finished a massive audit for a data center client and found over $200,000 in billing errors dating back two years - mostly power factor penalties that APS was calculating incorrectly. Would love to share the details and get input on similar cases from you all. Old Town Scottsdale sounds perfect - lots of good restaurant options and easy to get to.
Excellent! Sounds like we've got at least three confirmed. How about The Mission in Old Town? Great food, good atmosphere for conversation, and they can handle small groups without reservations getting too complicated. Let's say 6:30 PM? That gives everyone time to wrap up weekend activities and settle in for good discussion. Looking forward to hearing about Patricia's data center case - those power factor issues have been plaguing several of my clients too.
Perfect! The Mission at 6:30 PM on December 15th. I'll be there and I'm bringing my laptop in case we want to dive into any actual billing examples. This year has been such a learning experience with all the new solar interconnection rules and demand response programs. Should be a great way to close out 2018 and start planning for the challenges ahead in 2019. See you all there!
