Ohio backbilling question - Duke Energy only going back 1 year?

Strange situation here in Cincinnati. Duke Energy discovered a billing error on a commercial account (wrong rate schedule for 2 years) but they're only backbilling for 1 year. Ohio Revised Code allows up to 2 years for billing errors. Anyone know why they might voluntarily limit themselves? Not complaining, just curious about their policy.
Cecilia, that is odd. Alabama Power here goes the full 2 years allowed by our PSC rules. Maybe Duke has an internal policy to only go back 1 year for customer relations purposes? Or maybe they're only going back to when the current tariff took effect? I'd take the win and not ask too many questions.
Could be a statute of limitations issue or maybe they only have reliable records going back one year. Idaho Power sometimes limits their backbilling based on when they can prove the error started, not when they discovered it. Either way, you're getting a break - I'd take it and move on.
