Nashville flood aftermath - still dealing with utility issues 3 years later

The 2010 Nashville flood was devastating but I'm still finding billing problems related to meter replacements and service reconnections from that disaster. Nashville Electric Service had to replace thousands of flooded meters and apparently their records are still a mess. Just found a client who has been double-billed for the same service since their meter was replaced in 2010 - NES created a new account but never closed the flood-damaged account. Anyone else still dealing with disaster-related billing issues from natural disasters in your area?
Ed, I've seen similar issues with MLGW after the 2011 tornado damage in Memphis. When utilities have to do mass meter replacements and system repairs, their record-keeping often falls apart. Had three different clients with phantom accounts that were supposed to be closed after storm damage but kept generating estimated bills for properties that were demolished or had service permanently discontinued. The chaos from natural disasters seems to create billing errors that can persist for years.
Amir, that's exactly what I'm seeing. The worst part is that NES customer service reps don't have access to the old flood-related account notes, so they can't understand why there are duplicate accounts or weird billing anomalies. It takes supervisor-level intervention to get anyone who remembers the post-flood cleanup procedures. Makes me think utilities should have better disaster recovery protocols for their billing systems, not just their physical infrastructure.
