Wanted to share a positive experience with PG&E here in California. Been working with the same account manager for two years, and last week she actually called me to point out that one of my clients was on the wrong rate schedule. Switching from A-6 to E-19 is going to save them about $18K annually. Never thought I'd see the day when a utility proactively helped with savings!
PG&E account manager actually helped me find savings!
That's fantastic, Lewis! Building those kinds of relationships takes time but really pays off. I've got a similar situation with MLGW here in Memphis - the commercial rates specialist has become a real partner over the years. When utilities trust you, they're much more willing to work collaboratively.
Wish I could say the same about NorthWestern Energy. They're professional but definitely not proactive about savings. Still fighting to get basic information on their Schedule 11 industrial rates. Your PG&E contact sounds like a keeper!
Duke Energy here in North Carolina has a few gems like that too. I think it helps that we've been consistent and professional over the years. They know we're not trying to scam anyone, just making sure customers pay the right amount. Relationships matter more than people think in this business.
