Anyone here work with energy brokers in Vermont? We're a mid-sized manufacturer served by Green Mountain Power and considering hiring a broker to help with rate optimization. Our current annual spend is around $180K. Given Vermont's limited deregulation, I'm wondering if there's enough opportunity to justify broker fees.

Green Mountain Power broker relationships - worth it?
Chester - Vermont's market is pretty limited compared to other states. Most of the savings opportunities with GMP are going to be in demand management, power factor correction, and taking advantage of efficiency programs. A good local consultant might be more valuable than a traditional energy broker for your situation.
Sylvia makes a good point. At $180K annual spend in Vermont, you're probably better off with an energy consultant who understands GMP's specific programs rather than a broker focused on commodity switching. Look into GMP's Business Energy Solutions program - they might provide some of the analysis you need at no cost.
