Working on a Tucson Electric Power commercial benchmarking study and need some comparison data. Client is a 45K sq ft office building pulling about 180 MWh annually on Schedule 20 general service. That puts them at roughly 4 kWh/sq ft which seems reasonable but client thinks it's high. Anyone have similar TEP accounts they can share anonymized usage data on? Willing to reciprocate with my database.

TEP Benchmarking Data - Anyone Have Recent Comps?
Linda, I don't have TEP data but that 4 kWh/sq ft is pretty standard for Southwest office buildings. Here in Corpus Christi with AEP Texas we see 3.5-5.5 range depending on HVAC efficiency and tenant density. What's their cooling load profile look like? Arizona summer months can skew the annual average pretty significantly.
Agree with Vivian on the cooling impact. Here in Pennsylvania with Met-Ed we see lower annual averages obviously, but 4 kWh/sq ft for Tucson climate zone actually sounds efficient. Maybe the client needs education on regional benchmarking versus national averages. Desert climates just require more energy.
