This is bizarre. Got a client whose EPB (Chattanooga electric) bill jumped from January 28 reading straight to March 15 reading. No February bill at all. Now they're trying to bill 46 days at once and the client is freaking out about the huge amount. EPB claims there was a "meter reading issue" but won't provide details. The bill shows $1,840 for what should have been two separate billing cycles. Has anyone seen a utility just skip an entire month like this?
EPB Chattanooga skipped February entirely??
Andre, I've seen TVA contractors do this during bad weather. They'll skip readings if routes are inaccessible, then catch up the next month. The billing should still be split into proper periods though, not one giant 46-day bill.
CPS Energy in San Antonio did something similar during the ice storm in 2017. They estimated one month then corrected with a massive catch-up bill. Andre, demand they break it into proper monthly periods with correct proration. Don't let them dump 46 days of charges in one bill cycle.
