Quick question for the Texas folks - anyone else seeing problems with Oncor's TOU-D rate schedule implementation? I have a Tyler client that seems to be getting billed peak rates during off-peak hours on weekends. The tariff clearly states weekends are off-peak only, but their interval data shows peak rate coding on Saturday afternoons. Oncor claims their system is correct but I can't find any justification in the published schedule. What am I missing here?
Oncor TOU-D Rate Schedule Issues
Howard - I haven't seen that specific issue, but Oncor's TOU implementation has been problematic since they rolled out the new AMI system. Double-check if there were any holidays involved - sometimes their system applies weekday rates on holiday weekends incorrectly. Also verify they're using Central Time consistently. I've seen billing errors where the AMI data was recorded in UTC but billed using local time assumptions.
One more thought - check if your client is on TOU-D or accidentally got moved to TOU-W (weekday/weekend differentiated). The rate codes look similar but TOU-W has weekend peak periods during certain hours. Oncor's customer service has been mixing up these schedules lately. Get them to confirm exactly which tariff is being applied.
