Working with a large church campus in Texas (Oncor/TXU territory) that has 6 different buildings - sanctuary, fellowship hall, school, gymnasium, offices, and daycare center. Each building has its own meter but they're all on the same commercial rate. Wondering if we can optimize by putting different buildings on different rate schedules based on usage patterns?

Church Campus Multiple Buildings - Rate Optimization
Harriet, absolutely worth exploring. Churches often have very different load patterns - the daycare runs weekdays, gym has evening activities, sanctuary peaks on Sundays. In Texas you have retail choice, so you could potentially get different contracts for different usage profiles. Also check if the church qualifies for any nonprofit discounts.
Estelle's right about the usage patterns. We helped a megachurch in Dallas optimize their rates - put the school on an education rate, daycare on commercial, and sanctuary/fellowship hall on a weekend-heavy schedule. Saved them $2,100/month across all buildings. Texas deregulation makes this much easier than other states.
This is exactly what I was hoping to hear. The daycare alone runs $1,800/month so even small percentage savings add up quickly. Going to analyze each building's load profile and see what rate options make sense for each one.
