University campus with 47 meters - consolidation savings?

Working with a state university that has 47 separate meters across their main campus, all on different rate schedules. Some are residential tariffs from when they were faculty housing, others are small commercial. The total monthly usage is around 3.2 million kWh. Anyone had success getting a utility to consolidate billing for better rates?
Sandra - which utility? State universities usually qualify for special institutional rates that can be much better than retail. I helped Penn State consolidate with PPL and saved them about $180K annually. The key is getting classified as a single customer rather than multiple accounts.
Mike's right about institutional rates. Also check if they qualify for any state agency discounts. Some utilities have specific programs for state-funded institutions. Had a California state college save 15% just by switching rate classifications.
This is with Georgia Power. I'll look into their institutional programs - didn't realize there might be state agency discounts available. Thanks for the leads!
Sandra, Georgia Power does have good institutional rates for state universities. Make sure you also review their Time-of-Use options - universities can often shift some loads to take advantage of off-peak pricing. The consolidation alone should get you significant demand charge reductions.
