Struggling with LOA collection on a 150-location franchise audit. Corporate is supportive but about 30% of franchisees are dragging their feet or ignoring requests entirely. These are mostly smaller 2-3 location operators who seem suspicious of the whole process. Any strategies for getting reluctant franchisees to cooperate?
LOA collection strategies for reluctant franchisees
Scott, we had similar issues with a Dunkin' Donuts portfolio. What worked was having corporate send a letter explaining that this was a company-wide initiative and that participation was expected. Also helped to include a one-page FAQ addressing common concerns about data privacy and costs.
That's a good idea Omar. I think some of them are worried about what we might find or that there will be upfront costs. The FAQ addressing those concerns could definitely help. Did corporate put any teeth behind their 'expectation' letter?
They didn't threaten anything directly, but they did mention it was part of their cost reduction initiative and results would be shared in quarterly franchise meetings. Social pressure worked better than any mandate would have. Got about 90% compliance within 6 weeks.
