Halfway through a 90-location restaurant chain audit and seeing some interesting patterns. About 30% have demand charge issues, 15% are on wrong rate schedules, and surprisingly 8% have basic billing errors. Anyone else tracking patterns like this across their portfolio work?

Common patterns across multi-site portfolios
Pam, those numbers sound about right for restaurant chains. I keep a running database of findings by industry type. Retail usually shows more rate optimization opportunities, while office buildings tend to have more demand charge issues.
Great idea tracking by industry. Manufacturing facilities almost always have power factor issues - maybe 40% of sites. Hotels tend to have time-of-use optimization opportunities. Really helps with proposal writing when you can cite historical patterns.
Steven, that's exactly why I started tracking this stuff. Clients love seeing industry benchmarks. Makes the pitch much stronger when you can say 'we typically find X% of restaurant locations have Y issue.'
