Tracking findings across 400+ bank branches - Excel hell

I'm drowning in spreadsheets trying to track audit findings across 420 bank branches. Started with one master Excel file but it's become unwieldy at 15MB. Separate tabs for each state, separate sheets for different utilities, pivot tables that take 5 minutes to refresh. There has to be a better way to manage this data. What's everyone else using for large portfolio tracking?
Donna, I feel your pain! We made the jump to Access database for anything over 100 locations. Takes some setup time but once it's running you can generate reports in seconds instead of waiting for Excel to crash. Can also link multiple users so your team can update findings in real-time.
Have you looked at any of the utility audit software packages? I know UtilityTracker has a portfolio module that handles multi-site tracking pretty well. Might be worth the investment if you're doing regular large portfolio work.
Thanks both. Lorraine, I'm decent with Excel but Access intimidates me - might need to bite the bullet and learn it though. Pete, I'll check out UtilityTracker. The CFO keeps asking for executive dashboards and I'm spending more time formatting reports than actually auditing at this point.
