Bank branch portfolio - unexpected complexity

Thought a 65-branch bank audit would be straightforward since they're all similar facilities. Boy was I wrong! Different utilities, different rate structures, some branches in shopping centers with weird billing arrangements. Three months in and still sorting through the complexity. Anyone else surprised by how messy bank portfolios can be?
Leon, banks can definitely be tricky. The shopping center locations are the worst - sometimes they're on master meters or have weird pro-rata arrangements. I always ask for lease documents now to understand the billing setup before diving in.
Anita, wish I'd thought of that earlier! The lease documents would have saved me tons of time. Filed that tip away for the next bank client.
Banks present unique challenges with their varied real estate situations. Leon's experience highlights why we need to do thorough discovery upfront. Those master meter situations can completely change your audit approach and potential savings.
