Small office building wrong rate class for 2 years

Just closed an audit on a small office building in Tampa (TECO territory). They were on Schedule GS-1 instead of GS-D for almost 2 years. Peak demand averaging 28 kW but the threshold is 20 kW. Total recovery was $8,400 over 24 months. Client is thrilled but I'm kicking myself for not catching it sooner in the process.
Bernard, that's a solid recovery for a small commercial account. Don't beat yourself up - rate classification errors can be subtle especially when usage is close to threshold boundaries. The important thing is you found it and got them properly classified going forward.
Nice work! TECO's rate structures can be tricky with those demand thresholds. We've found several accounts right around that 20 kW boundary that were misclassified. The monthly savings probably make a real difference for a small office building too.
