What's everyone's minimum monthly bill threshold for small commercial accounts? I've been turning down anything under $1,500/month but wondering if I'm leaving money on the table. Had a daycare approach me with $900/month bills - feels too small but they're convinced there's an error.

Minimum bill size for small commercial worth pursuing?
Vera, I usually stick to $1,200+ for individual accounts unless it's part of a larger portfolio. Under that, the time investment rarely pays off even if you find issues. That daycare might be better served by a quick rate analysis rather than a full audit.
I've done a few under $1,000/month and regretted it every time. The errors are usually small and the clients expect the same level of service as bigger accounts. Now I only go below $1,500 if it's part of a multi-location deal or a referral source I really want to keep happy.
That daycare might actually be on the wrong rate though. We found a preschool on residential that should have been small commercial - saved them $400/month. Sometimes the small ones have the biggest percentage errors.
Good point Iris. I'll offer them a quick rate classification review for a flat $300 fee. If there's a bigger issue we can discuss a full audit. Thanks for the perspectives everyone.
