Just wanted to share some good news - the $38K refund check from AEP finally came through after 8 months of back and forth. Demand billing error on their Schedule GS-3 rate. Sometimes persistence pays off!

Congrats! AEP can be really slow on the big refunds. Did they pay any interest on the 8-month delay?
Yes, they added 6% interest from the date of settlement agreement to check date. Added about $1,500 to the total. Fair enough given the delay.
