Ameren billing dispute - 3 year statute of limitations question

Found a billing error with Ameren going back to 2012, but they're saying Missouri has a 3-year limit on billing adjustments. The error is worth about $22K total. Is there any way around the statute of limitations?
Missouri does have the 3-year rule, but it's from when you discovered the error, not when it occurred. If you can prove you just found it, you might be able to go back further. Worth researching the exact wording.
Also check if there were any changes in tariff interpretation or meter readings that might have hidden the error. Sometimes utilities waive the limitation if their own actions prevented discovery.
Good points - the error was caused by incorrect meter multiplier that wasn't on the bills. Could argue we couldn't have discovered it without detailed tariff analysis. Going to make that case.
