Won a $15K dispute with PSE&G but now they want to apply it as a credit against future bills instead of cutting a check. Client needs the cash for operations. Can they force credits instead of refunds?

PSE&G wants to 'net' my refund against future bills
Check NJ regulations - most states require utilities to refund overpayments in cash if the customer requests it. PSE&G is probably hoping your client will just accept the credit to avoid hassle.
Floyd's right. In New Jersey, customers have the right to request cash refunds for billing errors. Reference the BPU regulations when you push back - they'll cave quickly.
Perfect - found the BPU reg and sent it to them. Got approval for a check within 2 days. Amazing how fast they move when you cite the actual rules!
