Has anyone dealt with FPL rejecting a perfectly valid Letter of Authorization? They're claiming the signature doesn't match their records, but I've used this same client LOA format for 3 years. The dispute is worth $12K and they're stalling on a clear TOU-GSD billing error from 2018.
FPL refusing to honor LOA - saying signature is 'not original'
FPL has gotten pickier about LOAs lately. Try having your client sign it at a branch office with a notary present - that usually shuts down their objections. I've had to do this twice in the past year.
Ed's right - they're being extra cautious after some fraud cases last year. The branch office trick works, or get it notarized. Pain in the rear but it moves things along faster than arguing.
This is becoming more common across utilities. Document everything - their rejection letter, your LOA format, dates. If they keep stalling, file a PSC complaint citing unnecessary delays in dispute resolution.
Update: Got it notarized and they accepted it immediately. Total waste of time but at least we're moving forward. Thanks for the advice everyone!
