Found billing errors going back 7 years with ConEd. They're saying statute of limitations is only 6 years in New York. Is that correct? Seems like I should be able to recover the full 7 years.

ConEd statute of limitations question
Dan, New York PSC rules limit utility backbilling to 6 years, but that same limit applies to customer refunds. ConEd is correct on the 6-year limitation. Some states are different though.
Sarah's right. I learned this the hard way last year. New York is strict on the 6-year rule. Focus your claim on the most recent 6 years and make sure your calculations are solid.
Thanks for clarifying. Still looking at about $31,000 in refunds for the 6-year period. Better than nothing!
