Ameren is claiming they don't have meter records going back 4 years for a demand billing dispute. Says their system only keeps 2 years of interval data. This seems fishy to me - aren't utilities required to maintain this stuff longer? How do I get the records I need?
Documentation nightmare with Ameren Missouri
They're lying. Missouri PSC requires 7 years of meter records be maintained. File a data request through the PSC if they won't cooperate directly. I've never had Ameren actually lose meter data - they just don't want to dig it up because it's archived.
Tony's right - they have the data. Sometimes the interval data gets moved to archive servers and they act like it doesn't exist. Be persistent and cite the PSC retention requirements. You might need to pay a nominal fee for "research time" but they'll produce the records.
Great, thanks. I figured something was off about their response. Will cite the 7-year requirement and threaten the PSC data request. Client needs this case resolved so I'll push hard for the records.
