Just wanted to share a win. Filed formal complaint with Colorado PUC against Xcel for $31K demand billing error. They tried to lowball us at $18K but PUC staff sided with our analysis. Full recovery plus interest!

Xcel Energy formal complaint success story
Congrats Estelle! How long did the whole process take from filing to resolution?
About 8 months total. Hearing was scheduled but Xcel settled two weeks before. The interest added another $2,800 which was nice.
Colorado PUC is solid for these disputes. They really know the tariffs and don't let utilities get away with weak arguments. Great job pushing it all the way.
Nice work Estelle. The formal complaint route takes patience but when you're right, you're right. The interest component is often overlooked but can add up significantly on larger amounts.
