Just had the worst presentation of my career. Georgia Power audit, found $31k in errors over 2 years. Client disputed every single finding, claimed I didn't understand their "unique situation." Anyone else dealt with a client who just won't accept the findings?
Disaster Report - Client Disputed Everything!
Ouch Linda, that sucks. What kind of errors were they disputing? Meter readings, tariff interpretation, or calculation methodology?
Mix of everything Fred. Biggest issue was $18k in demand charges where their CT ratio was wrong (600:5 instead of 800:5). They insisted their ratio was correct even when I showed them the meter nameplate photos.
CT ratio disputes are the worst because they think you're calling them incompetent. Did you bring Georgia Power into the discussion? Sometimes the utility backing your findings helps.
Wade, that's actually a great idea I didn't think of. Meeting got so contentious I just wanted to get out of there. Might be worth a follow-up call with their account rep present.
Been there Linda. Sometimes you get a client who hired you hoping you'd find nothing, then gets defensive when you actually do your job. Document everything and move on - not worth the stress.
