Technical Appendix - Necessary Evil or Waste?

Do you include detailed technical appendices in your reports? All the meter data, tariff calculations, CT ratios, etc.? Takes forever to compile but wondering if anyone actually reads that stuff.
I do a "summary appendix" - key data points and calculations but not every single meter reading. Gives credibility without overwhelming them with 50 pages of raw data.
Linda, that's a good compromise. Do you include sample calculations showing how you arrived at savings numbers? That might be more useful than raw meter data.
Sample calculations are definitely worth including. Shows your methodology and helps client understand where the numbers come from. I do one detailed example per major finding.
The technical appendix also helps if client brings in other consultants for second opinions. Shows you did thorough analysis and aren't just throwing out random recommendations.
Earl's right about CYA. I had a client challenge a demand charge calculation once. Good thing I had all the interval data in the appendix to back up my analysis.
Sarah, I always include it. CYA factor - if someone questions your findings, you have the backup data. Plus some facility engineers actually do read it and appreciate the detail.
