Meter reading validation techniques

What methods do you all use for validating meter readings? I'm seeing more AMI installations but still dealing with some manual read accounts. Found what looks like a systematic reading error on a Georgia Power account - readings seem off by exactly 10% for three consecutive months.
For AMI validation, I compare monthly consumption against historical usage patterns and weather data. Significant deviations usually indicate meter issues or billing errors. Also check that demand readings align with consumption - impossible to have 100 kW demand with only 200 kWh usage in a month.
Gary, good call on the CT ratio. The account is 2000:5 CTs so that would be a 400 multiplier. Alice, that's a great point about demand vs consumption correlation. I'll pull the demand readings and see if they track proportionally.
Also check if Georgia Power switched from actual to estimated readings during that period. Sometimes the billing system doesn't clearly flag estimated reads and they can be wildly off. I always request the read type codes with the consumption data.
Ernest, that 10% pattern sounds like a CT ratio issue rather than reading errors. Have you verified the CT multiplier? I've seen cases where the meter installer used wrong CT ratios and it creates exactly that kind of consistent variance.
