Anyone using project management software to track audit workflows? Getting busier and losing track of where I am on different projects. Excel task lists aren't cutting it anymore. Looking for something simple but effective.
Software tools for workflow management?
Juan, I've been using Trello for about a year. Simple kanban boards work well for audit workflows - columns for "Data Collection," "Analysis," "Report Writing," "Client Review," etc. Easy to see status of all projects at a glance. Free version handles my volume fine.
I tried Trello but found it too simplistic for my needs. Using Monday.com now - more robust but steeper learning curve. Good for tracking deadlines, client communications, and billable hours all in one place. Probably overkill if you're mostly a solo operation though.
Honestly, I still use a combination of Excel and Outlook tasks. Not fancy but it works. The key is having some system and sticking to it consistently. Whatever tool you choose, make sure you'll actually use it daily or it's worthless.
