Been doing audits for about 2 years now and want to implement better quality control. Made a couple embarrassing errors recently that could have been caught with better review process.
Does anyone have a standard QC checklist they use before finalizing reports? What are the most common mistakes you see?

Ernest, I learned this the hard way too. My QC checklist includes:
- Verify all rate schedule effective dates match bill periods
- Double-check CT ratios and multipliers
- Confirm demand calculations use correct billing determinants
- Cross-check total savings against individual findings
- Spell-check and format review
- Test all Excel formulas with sample data
Most errors I see are calculation mistakes or using wrong tariff versions.

I have a two-person review process now. Fresh eyes catch things you miss after staring at numbers for hours. If you're solo, at least put the report aside for a day and review it fresh.
Also always verify your math manually for the biggest findings. Had a Excel formula error once that overstated savings by $30K. Client wasn't happy when the utility corrected it.

One thing I'd add - always verify the client contact information and account details are correct before submitting to utilities. Had a case where I spent weeks working with the wrong service address because of a typo in the initial client data.
Also double-check that your recommended actions are actually feasible for the client's operations.
