Gerald N. from Charlottesville. Got a weird situation with Dominion Energy where one phase went dead on a 3-phase 480V service but the meter kept calculating demand and energy charges as if all three phases were active. The multiplier seems to be applied incorrectly when only 2 phases are carrying load. Anyone seen this before?

Three-Phase Meter with Dead Phase - Multiplier Calculation Issues
Alice D. here in Staunton - I've dealt with Dominion on similar issues. Are you sure it's a multiplier problem and not just that their demand calculation doesn't account for the dead phase? Some older meters will still show inflated demand readings even with single-phase loss.
Alice - that's exactly what I'm trying to figure out. The CT ratio is 800:1 and the bills show demand charges for 1200kW when the actual connected load on two phases should be around 400kW max. Something doesn't add up with their calculation method.
