Working on a 12-story office building in Indianapolis where the sub-meters don't add up to the master meter. Building has AEP service on Schedule GST-2 with 1200:5 CTs on the main meter. Each floor has individual meters with 200:5 CTs but the math is way off. Total of all sub-meters is about 60% of master meter reading. Rick

Multi-Tenant Building Sub-Metering Multiplier Issues
Rick, are you sure all the sub-meters are on the same multiplier basis? Sometimes older buildings have a mix of CT ratios on different floors, especially if they were added over time. Also check for common area loads that might be on the master but not sub-metered. Dale H.
Dale good point about common areas. Found the problem - HVAC system and elevator loads are on the master meter but not individually metered. Those loads account for about 35% of total building consumption. The remaining 5% discrepancy is probably normal meter error tolerance. Thanks! Rick
