Lori T. Sioux Falls SD. Question for the group - client has been getting estimated reads for several months due to AMI communication issues. Xcel Energy just got the meter reading again and the usage seems way off. Wondering if there's a CT multiplier error that was hidden by the estimated billing. How do you analyze this when you don't have clean actual reads to compare?
Estimated Reads Masking Multiplier Problems
Ivan T. Bristol TN. Lori, we had that exact situation with BREC. Six months of estimates then boom - huge actual read that didn't match the estimates or our expected load. Turned out to be wrong CT programming that got masked by their estimating algorithm. You need to get several months of clean actual reads to establish the real usage pattern.
Ivan, that's what I'm afraid of. The estimates were running about 45,000 kWh per month but the actual read showed 92,000 kWh. Client is on Schedule A-14 General Service and this could mean months of underbilling. How long did it take to sort out the CT error versus the estimating problems?
