Donna L. in Oklahoma City. Just landed my first potential client - OG&E customer with 5 locations on Schedule LP Large Power. I'm terrified of pricing myself out but also don't want to work for peanuts. What did everyone charge for their very first engagement? Need guidance!
First client pricing - how low did you go?
Bob O. from Fayetteville AR here. My first client was an Entergy Arkansas customer on Schedule LGS-P. I charged way too little - only 25% of first year savings because I was desperate. Found them $28k but only made $7k myself. Learned to value my expertise after that mistake!
Marcus T. in Dallas. Oncor territory has so many billing errors that even discounted pricing can be profitable. I did my first audit at 30% of savings for a customer with multiple Schedule GS accounts. Found $45k in errors, made $13.5k, and they referred me to 2 other companies.
Franklin T. from Carson City NV. NV Energy customers on Schedule LGS often have complex demand charges that create opportunities. I started with a flat fee approach - $2500 for small facilities regardless of findings. Less risky than percentage-based pricing when you're learning.
