Brett H. from Topeka here. Planning to join my local Chamber of Commerce to network for utility audit prospects. Anyone have experience with chamber networking? What's the best approach for introducing our services without seeming too sales-y?
Chamber of Commerce networking tips?
Janice L. from Augusta here. Been a chamber member for 5 years and it's been worth every penny! The key is building relationships first, selling second. I volunteer for committees and attend the monthly mixers religiously. Focus on helping other members with their challenges and the business referrals will follow naturally. Got three of my best clients through chamber connections.
Patricia O. from Richmond chiming in. Chamber networking is great but be prepared for the long game Brett. It took me almost a year before I got my first referral, but now I get 2-3 leads per quarter from chamber contacts. The manufacturing council meetings are gold mines for utility audit prospects.
Thanks Janice and Patricia! How do you typically explain what you do when people ask? I'm still working on my elevator pitch for networking events.
