Duke Energy Kentucky Rate Schedule GS fuel adjustment confusion

Hey everyone, Kevin D. here from Louisville. I'm looking at Duke Energy Kentucky's Rate Schedule GS and I'm confused about the fuel adjustment clause. The tariff shows a base fuel cost of 2.847¢ per kWh but then there's this monthly adjustment factor that changes. Last month it was +0.432¢ but this month it jumped to +0.591¢. Where exactly do they publish these monthly updates?
Kevin, Randy Dawson here. The monthly fuel adjustment factors are typically posted on Duke's website under their tariff section, usually in a separate document called "Fuel Adjustment Schedule" or similar. You can also find them filed with the Kentucky PSC in their electronic filing system. The adjustment reflects changes in coal, natural gas, and purchased power costs from the previous month. Duke files these adjustments monthly and they become effective on the first billing cycle of each month. I'd recommend bookmarking both Duke's tariff page and the KY PSC's case lookup system for tracking these changes.
James W. from Lexington jumping in. I deal with Duke regularly and Randy's right about the monthly filings. One thing to watch for is that sometimes there are true-up adjustments that can cause bigger swings in the fuel clause. Also check if your customer is on the standard fuel adjustment or if they've opted into any alternative fuel procurement programs Duke offers.
Thanks Randy and James! Found the monthly fuel schedules on Duke's site. That true-up adjustment makes sense - I see there was a larger swing in March that must have been one of those. Appreciate the help!
