Glenda here from Nampa. Am I reading this right that Idaho Power actually decreased rates for some commercial customers? Schedule 9 (Large General Service) went down 3.2% while residential went up 2.1%. My manufacturing clients are seeing lower bills for the first time in years. Anyone else seeing utilities with actual decreases?

Idaho Power 2026 - surprising 3.2% decrease in some rate classes
Glenda - yes, you're reading it right! I'm in Boise and can confirm the Schedule 9 decrease. Idaho Power had exceptional water conditions this year so hydroelectric generation costs are way down. The savings are being passed through to larger commercial and industrial customers. It's been about 8 years since I've seen an actual rate decrease.
Iris, that makes sense about the hydro conditions. I should have my clients lock in any energy-intensive projects this year while rates are favorable. Who knows how long this will last if we get another drought year like 2021-2022.
