Got a manufacturing client in Newark on PSE&G. They claim they have primary service but aren't seeing the voltage discount on Rate Schedule GP. Tariff says 4.5% discount for primary service. Anyone dealt with this utility on voltage level disputes?
PSE&G Primary Service Discount - Customer says they're not getting it
Check the service connection point. PSE&G is strict about what qualifies as primary. If customer owns the transformer but it's fed from secondary voltage, no discount. Need to verify actual delivery voltage at the meter.
Also verify the Rate Schedule. GP has the primary discount but some customers get moved to different schedules without realizing it. Check if they're still on GP or got switched to something else.
Found the issue! They were moved to Rate Schedule LPL last year and that schedule doesn't have a primary discount structure. Going back to PSE&G to see if GP is still available for their load profile.
Good catch. PSE&G often moves customers between rate schedules based on usage patterns. Always verify the customer is on the most advantageous schedule for their service configuration and load characteristics.
