Evergy client in Kansas wants force majeure clause covering pandemics, natural disasters, etc. Never thought about this before COVID. Is this becoming standard?
Force majeure clause necessary?
Vectren clients in Indiana started requiring this after 2020. Covers both parties if external events prevent performance. Seems reasonable protection.
California utilities all require force majeure language now. Wildfire seasons can shut down access to facilities for weeks. Better to have it and not need it.
