Dominion Energy audit in Richmond got terminated after 2 weeks when client changed CFOs. My contract has no termination clause. Can I bill for work completed? Spent 20 hours already.
Always include termination language. I require 30 days notice and payment for work completed plus expenses. Learned this from PSE&G audit that got cancelled.
You should get paid for work done. Even without specific clause, basic contract law supports payment for services rendered. Document your hours carefully.
Arizona Public Service audit got terminated when they sold the facility. My clause says 30-day notice required, immediate payment for completed work, reimbursement of costs.
PG&E clients in California have cancelled mid-audit twice. Now I require termination clause: either party, 30 days written notice, immediate payment for services through notice date.
