Large manufacturing client in Hartford wants me to audit 15 facilities across New England. They're requiring $5M E&O coverage. Seems excessive for utility auditing work. Anyone else seeing demands like this?

Client wants me to carry $5M E&O - overkill?
Big corporations are getting paranoid about contractor insurance. I've seen requirements for $10M on simple energy audits. Sometimes you can negotiate down or have them add you to their umbrella policy.
Cost difference between $2M and $5M probably isn't that much. If it's a good client worth keeping, might be worth upgrading. I pay about $3,200/year for $5M through Chubb.
