Augusta shopping center tenant is questioning their CMP (Central Maine Power) delivery service charges. They're on rate schedule Small General Service - Delivery. The delivery rate is $0.06124/kWh plus a $19.47 customer charge. Energy supply is separate through a competitive supplier. Does this delivery rate seem reasonable for Maine?

Central Maine Power delivery service rate in shopping center lease
Diana - CMP delivery rates are pretty high compared to other New England utilities. That $0.06124/kWh is about right for Small General Service. The customer charge also looks correct. Maine delivery rates spiked after some transmission upgrades a few years ago.
Thanks Jennifer. Tenant was comparing to their residential rate which is much lower. I explained that commercial delivery rates are always higher due to different rate structures and cost allocation methods.
Update - verified the rates against CMP's current tariff. Everything checks out. Tenant is now focused on whether their competitive supply rate is competitive. That's outside the scope of the lease audit but might be worth looking into separately.
