MDU smart meters in Bismarck seem to lose energy readings during cellular communication outages. When towers go down in winter storms, some usage doesn't get recorded. Old mechanical meters stored all usage regardless of communication. Anyone else seeing missing energy data?

Montana-Dakota smart meters missing energy during communication outages
Xcel Energy in Texas uses mesh network instead of cellular for smart meter communication. Haven't seen missing data issues even during extended outages. Sounds like MDU needs better backup systems.
Memphis Light Gas & Water switched from cellular to fiber backhaul for AMI network after similar data loss issues. Smart meters should store at least 30 days of interval data locally.
