It's 118 degrees here today and my APS bill is going to be insane. My own house hit $340 last month just for cooling. Makes me appreciate why our commercial clients freak out about summer demand charges!

Same here in Charlotte. Duke Energy's residential summer rates are brutal. At least we know how to read the bills though - found my neighbor was on the wrong rate schedule and saved her $80/month.
Wichita hit 112 yesterday. Westar Energy demand hit peak pricing. I'm actually thinking about getting a home energy audit done - figure I should practice what I preach to clients.
Richmond's been over 100 for 8 straight days. Dominion Virginia Power's peak hours are killing everyone. Maybe we should start offering residential audits as a side business?
Newark's not much better. PSE&G rates went up 12% this summer. At least commercial clients understand demand charges - residential customers just see a big number and panic.
