Misread Louisville Gas & Electric meter multiplier

New auditor mistake - thought I found a huge billing error on LG&E account. Meter reading showed 1,200 kWh but bill showed 12,000 kWh. Spent hours calculating refunds before realizing the CT ratio was 10:1. Felt pretty stupid.
Ha! Every Kentucky auditor has done that once. LG&E uses current transformers on larger accounts. The meter face shows actual meter reading, billing system applies the multiplier automatically.
Same thing happened to me with KU. Always check the nameplate data on CTs before celebrating a big finding. 200:5 ratio means multiply by 40.
This is common across the southeast. Duke Energy, TVA, all the big utilities use CT metering above certain kW levels. The multiplier is usually shown on the bill somewhere.
