Scaling beyond your local market
I do about 70% of my Florida audits remotely now. Clients scan or email bills, I analyze from my Tampa office. Site visits only for complex industrial accounts.
Key is building relationships with local partners in target markets. I have contacts in Greensboro and Winston-Salem who handle site visits when needed.
Started with adjacent markets - Little Rock and Springdale first, then expanded to Memphis. Easier to drive than fly for relationship building.
Technology helps a lot. Video calls for client meetings, DocuSign for contracts, cloud storage for sharing findings. Geography matters less than it used to.
