Thinking about trying Google Ads to generate leads in Tampa. Keywords like "reduce electric bill" and "commercial energy audit" are $8-12 per click. Anyone had success with PPC for this business?
Google Ads for utility auditing - waste of money?
Tried it for 6 months in Akron. Spent $3200 and got exactly zero clients. The clicks came from homeowners and small businesses that couldn't afford our services. Stick with networking and referrals.
Different experience here. I've been running Google Ads in Charlotte for 8 months. Spending about $800/month and averaging 2-3 qualified leads. Converted 4 clients so far with total billings of $18K. ROI is positive but barely.
The problem with Google Ads is you're competing against solar companies, energy consultants, and HVAC contractors who have much bigger ad budgets. Better to focus on LinkedIn ads targeting facility managers and property directors. More expensive per click but higher quality leads.
